About Me · 1598 days ago

I teach law school at Western New England College School of Law in Springfield, Massachusetts. I teach Torts, Products Liability, and (once and again someday, no doubt) Patent Law.

Before entering academia, I was a litigator at Williams & Connolly in Washington, DC. I clerked for now-Chief Judge James M. Rosenbaum in the District of Minnesota in Minneapolis, Minnesota. I attended the University of Texas School of Law in Austin and Macalester College in St. Paul. I’m more or less from Minnesota.

Prior to law school, I had a rather varied life, ranging from fundraising for progressive nonprofits and political candidates to owning a record store to valet parking. There is nothing like doing valet parking in a Minnesota winter to make you think that law school sounds pretty good.

I live with my wife and two children in Florence, a village of Northampton. Among many other geeky interests, I enjoy amusement parks; amusement park safety is one of my academic interests as well, though I’ve mostly been thinking about law and science lately.
